From Bangladesh and raised in Hong Kong, Shafin is an Actor and Voiceover artist working in Film and Theatre for over 10 years. She is thrilled to have played such a variety of roles, such as Cinderella to the villain, Tylette, in the musical adaptation of the play "Bluebird of Happiness." (adapted from the play from 1800's and film in the 1940's, starring Shirley Temple).
Most recently, Shafin had a co-star role in a TV Series from USA, and played Myrtle in "The Great Gatsby," by UK's Secret Theatre, during their 2021 tour in HK.
She has worked on Hong Kong and international films, from Hollywood, France and Italy, with some projects having then been selected for Film and Arts Festivals in France, Sharjah and South Africa. She has voiced audioplays, as well as commercials for Haschel Toys, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Toys R Us and LeapFrog. Commercial clients include L'Oreal, Mandarin Oriental and MSN.
Prior to acting, Shafin worked for MTV and DefJam Records in NYC, and she is a very proud NYU Alum!
Shafin feels fortunate to have a global perspective and is an advocate for race relations, human rights and diversity. She is eager to be involved in projects which elicit positive social change and acceptance. She is passionate about providing alternate perspectives to difficult to discuss topics and hopes to be a voice for the voiceless.
Her motivation for her work, as you may have seen browsing across this site, is:
CREATE to INSPIRE...CREATE to bring a SMILE.
"This industry has the biggest global reach. Let's use it for good and to connect the world."
